What's in the Bible? Vol. 4 Review and Giveaway

What’s in the Bible Vol. 4: Battle for the Promise Land is the latest of the What’s in the Bible series that we have had the opportunity to review. And just like the others, we loved it! In this fun-filled DVD, Phil Vischer, Buck  Denver and the whole cast of puppets teach their way through the first three books of the Historical section of the Bible: Joshua, Judges and Ruth.

The DVD has two episodes on it...

Finally, the Promised Land! Covers Joshua and tricky questions about fighting and killing in the Bible.

Cycle of Misery Covers the time of the Judges and the Bible’s romance story - Ruth!

The DVD is about 50 minutes long. Just like the VeggieTales, the What’s in the Bible movies are full of catchy songs and simple lessons that even my three year old understands.
While I’m talking about ages… my 12 year old asks to watch these shows often. I enjoy them too. So really there is no age limit to these movies because they’re great for all ages!

Some things I really like about this particular volume:

1. Like all the movies in the series, it explains our need for a savior and how to go about knowing Christ.

2. Phil does a great job of explaining the biblical reasons why it was okay for the Israelites to take the Promised Land back. (deals with stealing and killing)

3. Call me crazy but I quite enjoyed the popsicle stick puppet segment about Ruth. It cracked me up.

We have watched Volume 4 several times now and the kids pick up something new each time. The fact that my two and three year olds excitedly run into the kitchen to tell me all  about this movie tells me that Phil Vischer and the team are doing something right!

We love, love, love the What’s in the Bible series.

Right now they are on sale from Family Christian for only $9.97 (normally $14.99). Any of the volumes would make a great Christmas gift or stocking stuffer!
