What I thought
Jesus Calling: 365 Devotions for Kids is definitely one of the cutest devotional I’ve ever seen for kids. I simply adore the design of the cover and pages. The devotions themselves are not frilly, sugar-coated or the usual short story with questions at the end. They remind me of what one might find in an adult devotional. Each one is simple yet meaningful with Scripture verses for added reading.
From the Introduction: When your friends want to talk to you, they call you on the phone, send an e-mail, or type out a text message. But when your very best Friend-Jesus-wants to talk, He connects straight to your heart. In this hurry up world, though, too many people don’t ever hear Jesus calling. I have found that you must first learn to: “Be still, and know that I am God” (Psalm 45:10).
Author Sarah Young invites the children to take time out daily to connect with God. She encourages not just reading but talking (praying), listening and keeping a prayer journal too.
