Weekly Wrap-up {8/29/14}

It really seems like I just wrote the last weekly wrap-up. I've said it before and I will say it again... this week has flown by!! We've accomplished a fair amount in school this week but of course are still behind to some degree. It's okay.. how does that phrase go? Keep calm and homeschool on. :)

I went into labor on Wednesday night and by the time we got to the hospital I had dilated to nearly 4cm (!!) and was 60-70% effaced (!!!). They stopped the labor with those pleasant terbutaline shots. You know, the ones that make you shake and twitch like an addict while making your heart race? Yeah, I love those... not! I've had preterm labor with my last three pregnancies so terb and I are well acquainted. Anyway, so they got the labor stopped after back to back shots and a dose of Procardia (another of my favorites!) Today I am 35 weeks 3 days and it is the hospital's policy to stop labor anytime before 37 weeks. I understand, really. Yes, I am done and ready to give birth. Yes, I ache from front to back and top to bottom but this little girl's health is worth it!! I am so thankful that my babies have always been born healthy. The only one to have spent time in the NICU was Max, and even then it was only for 8 hours.

Our quick rush to the hospital showed me how unprepared I am. As we scrambled around to pack my hospital back, I sat and looked around with a bit of dread in my heart. There is so much more I need to get done before this little one comes. I have reviews that need done, closets that need cleaned, a freezer that needs stocked. There seems to be a never ending list, but there's always a never ending list, right? I'm glad to have more time go get things done before we welcome home our new little one but to be honest.. I'm kind of afraid of how quickly my labor will progress once it starts up again. I mean.. already being nearly 4cm.. I just hope I'm not one of those whose water breaks and a baby is born 5 minutes later at the grocery store!!

I made some yummy fruit salsa this week that the kids devoured in seconds flat.

I had some great reviews this week too!

Holy Ghost, the movie - a Christian documentary completely inspired and directed by the Holy Spirits prompting. It's amazing! I'm also doing a giveaway for you to enter and win a copy for yourself!
Essential Skills Advantage - an online learning community for kids grades K-6. Max greatly enjoyed playing their learning games. They are offering a free version for a limited time.. go check it out!

I'm making some reusable nursing pads and hopefully will finish them within the next couple of days. I'll share how I made them.. maybe my first sewing tutorial? We will see!

As always, thanks for reading and God Bless!!
