My Glorious Plans

Today I woke up with the intention to get four things completed:
  •  all my laundry done- or at least washed, dried and put in a basket
  • breakfast for tomorrow either baked or in the fridge (depending on what I planned to make)
  • get the kids' assignments on paper for next week (thankfully, I can hand them a schedule with their independent work on it and I can trust them to complete it- until the time comes for it to be checked)
  • get MY school work done- yes, I too am in school, I'm currently working on my MBA (what on earth was I thinking???)
I was motivated! I was ready! I meant business! Then everything changed...

I had to go to the library early in the morning to pick up material for the upcoming week. I was fortunate to go alone so I could linger a bit and parooze. In my paroozing, I chatted a bit with a librarian and found out about a neat program they were offering this afternoon- for free! Woo-hoo! My kids can make "wind toys", for free? Yes, please!

So, I went home, grabbed the kids and went back to the library for some craft time. ( I would like to pat myself on the back for packing snacks before we went, which came in handy later)

Here's my sweet boy making his wind catcher.

After the library I determined it was too nice to go home, so we went to a park.

Caroline discovered sand for the first time and loved it!

I love those piggies!

Remember those snacks I mentioned?

We played and played for a couple of hours. When heading to the car Max started asking for ice cream. Why not!
As you can tell, my high schooler is so thrilled to have his picture taken.

This was one of the most relaxed days we have had in a while.

I didn't get my breakfast made or my homework done (I'll be doing that after the kids go to bed), and I didn't get the school schedules written. The laundry? Nope. It still sits in sorted piles in the laundry room. But.. my kids had a fun day, we spent time together outside in God's gorgeous weather and most importantly, we made memories.
My glorious plans changed and I couldn't be more happy about it! Thank you Lord for showing me once again that my plans are irrelevant! I sincerely felt his leading presence today. He knows the needs of my little ones far better than I do! :)
Actually, maybe it was me that needed today...
