New School Year Kick Off

We started the 2013-2014 school year this week. My oldest, Oscar, started high school-which means records. Lots and lots of records. Julia started fifth grade. She's doing Heart of Dakota, Creation to Christ. Thankfully, hers is all planned out for me, I just had to buy the books. Oscar's on the other hand, is a hodge podge of curriculum. Is that one word or two? hodge podge? hodgepodge? Anyway, so I had to come up with Oscars on my own. There are lots of great curriculum out but none seemed to be a great fit across the board.
So, here's what I came up with... Bob Jones English (writing and grammar), Teaching Textbooks Algebra I, Cat & Dog Theology for bible, Mystery of History (MOH) I and II, Vocabulary Vine for Latin and Greek roots, and Write With the Best for Creative writing. Fortunately, we are part of a great coop that meets every other Friday. HOWEVER, this year, the high school group will be meeting every Friday, the entire year. Coop is doing Apologia Chemistry and Dave Ramsey's Financial Foundations. Doing Chemistry in coop is great; this way Oscar can do all the labs (and they are not being done in my kitchen.)
