My name is Jeniffer and I'm overweight.

Like most women, my weight has yo-yo’d over the years. In my fit and trim days I was a firm 130 pounds. Everything was smooth and where it was meant to be. If you don’t know what I mean by that, obviously you’ve never been overweight.

Currently, I’m 161lbs. At 5’6”, I’m not obese but definitely… ahem… lumpy.

My muffin top has expanded to an unpleasant size, my thighs are seriously testing the thread strength of my pants and I don’t even want to mention the back fat. Back fat. How does that even happen?

Some women gain weight elegantly, they look like Beyoncé or Mariah Carey- smooth, well-proportioned and voluptuous. Unfortunately, that’s not me. When I get chunk up, my stomach forms into ugly rolls, my tush drops a couple inches, my back develops layers of fat (pretty, right?) and my face gets fat.

I am not a cute chub.

Beyond the obvious physical evidence of being overweight, I’ve noticed more side effects that people can’t see. I have next to no energy, and with two toddlers, having no energy isn’t an option.

My face isn’t as clear as it used to be. My monthly pimple has turned into several weekly ones.

There are several more internal side effects but the most bothersome for me is simply that I don’t feel attractive any more. I don’t feel pretty and question how my husband finds me attractive.

All that being said… I’m not beating myself up. I’m not complaining.

I’m laying a foundation.

We have an obligation to be healthy. Obligation to our Creator, our family and ourselves.

So, out of this obligation and a general feeling of yuck I've decided to finally do something about it.

Enter Trim Healthy Mama.

I am so excited to get started with it. I haven't started yet because well, it's over 600 pages long and I'd like to read most of it so I have full understanding of how things work. It's not diet but a way of eating- a lifestyle of understanding which foods to eat together for optimal fat burning! Yay fat burning!!

I don't know a whole lot yet, but I do know that I'm excited. Check out their website for lots of great info. Maybe you'd like to join me in the adventure?
