Those are a few of my many, many reasons (excuses?) for not getting dressed every day. Oh, I shower... and then proceed to put on clean pajamas / yoga pants / sweats / anything else comfy I can find (including my husbands clothes lately, thanks to my growing belly). I pull my hair into a messy bun or pony tail everyday and only wear make-up on Sundays.
I really don't have a problem with my degree of frumpiness... until my husband walks in the door.
My heart sinks and my grumpy level raises a few notches because I have once again let him come home to - not the pretty wife he married, not the one who dressed nicely and always had her fingers and toes painted, not the wife who wore earrings everyday and of course never went without a touch of make-up.. no. He comes home to the lady who hasn't washed her face in two days but has used dry shampoo for the past three! He comes home to the pot-bellied, oversized sweat pant wearing Queen Frump!
I'm not complaining, I promise. I'm saying all this because I'm reading The Resolution for Women. I'm getting ready to start the femininity resolution. And by "getting ready to start" I mean I haven't started it yet even though that has been my next chapter for DAYS now simply because I know she will have much to say about Queen Frump. I love the book and look forward to reading it.
My husband does deserve better. Maybe I will make a change (resolution?) and attempt to at least look presentable and not so scary when he gets home.
Do you actually get dressed everyday or live in comfy clothes like me? I've heard some people say that getting dressed helps them be more productive. Is that true?
I enjoyed your blog. We all are guilty of that if we stay at home. ha ha The book is awesome! You will love it when you get started in it!
