Julia's First History Project with Heart of Dakota

This year I sought out a curriculum for Julia that wouldn't be so much work for yours truly. I was enthralled with Heart of Dakota. I love the way its all planned out. I adored that she can do most of it on her own, and the icing was all the hands on projects. I am a huge fan of Charlotte Mason, however, doing things "her" way isn't always easy. I have found Heart of Dakota to be as close as I can get while keeping my own sanity. The book selections are superb. Julia is doing Hearts for Him through Time: Creation to Christ. She did her first history project today.

It was short, fun - and not too messy! She made a clay tablet with a cylinder seal (like those of the kings in ancient Mesopotamia).

She used The Story of the Ancient World  (one of her history books) to copy down some cuneiform characters.

It took all of 10 minutes to complete and she loved it! Yea HOD!
